Tragic Collision Claims Life of E-Rickshaw Driver in New Delhi

New Delhi, April 25: A tragic road accident occurred near Narang Eye Hospital on Ring Road, resulting in the death of an e-rickshaw driver and injuries to five others, including women and children. Police reported that they received information about the incident on Friday evening around 6 PM.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that an i20 car had collided with a battery-operated rickshaw, causing it to overturn. The driver of the rickshaw and five passengers sustained injuries. The car driver promptly transported all the injured to Vinayak Hospital.

Despite medical efforts, the rickshaw driver, Nagendra (36), succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, two women and three children are currently receiving treatment, and their conditions are reported to be stable.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident has been identified as Dr. Siddharth, a resident of Rohini and a senior resident radiologist at GB Pant Hospital. Police confirmed that he is undergoing a medical examination. The vehicle involved in the collision has been seized, and further legal action is underway.

This incident follows another tragic accident that occurred on April 23 in the Shakarpur area of East Delhi, where one person died and three others were injured when a speeding car struck a motorcycle around 1:30 AM. Police received a call about the accident at 1:50 AM and reported that all injured individuals were taken to Hedgewar Hospital. The driver responsible for that incident was apprehended by bystanders before police arrived to initiate an investigation.
