Tragic Accident on Yamuna Expressway Claims One Life

Greater Noida, May 15: A tragic road accident occurred late Thursday night on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida. The incident took place in the Rabupura police jurisdiction, resulting in the death of a pickup truck driver who was severely injured at the scene. Following the accident, chaos ensued on the expressway for a brief period.

Upon receiving the alert, police and rescue teams arrived promptly and rushed the injured driver to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to police reports, the accident happened on May 15, 2026, on the stretch of the Yamuna Expressway heading from Agra to Pari Chowk, near kilometer marker 18. It is reported that the pickup collided with a truck that was moving at high speed.

The impact was so severe that the front of the pickup was completely wrecked, leaving the driver critically injured. The deceased has been identified as Mohit, son of Netrapal, a resident of Nandanwan Mail Road Bypass, Delhi Gate police station, Aligarh. Police indicate that Mohit was approximately 26 years old. After the accident, passersby and individuals present on the expressway immediately notified the police and ambulance services.

With the assistance of the ambulance that arrived at the scene, Mohit was taken to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Following the incident, the Rabupura police managed to restore normal traffic flow and removed the damaged vehicles from the road. The family of the deceased has been informed about the accident.

Initial investigations suggest that high speed and sudden braking may have caused the pickup to crash into the truck. However, police are examining all aspects of the case. The body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem, with further legal proceedings underway.
