Titans Conduct Second Interviews with Robert Saleh and Matt Nagy

The Tennessee Titans have completed second-round, in-person interviews with two prominent NFL coaches: Robert Saleh, the defensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers, and Matt Nagy, offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, the team announced on Monday.

This marks Saleh’s first interview with the Titans. Originally scheduled for a virtual meeting, Saleh was able to attend in person following the 49ers’ recent loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Titans are continuing their thorough coaching search, having interviewed 15 candidates in the initial rounds.

Matt Nagy, who had previously met with the Titans officials virtually, is now participating in a face-to-face interview. Nagy has been with the Chiefs organization for nine seasons, stepping into the offensive coordinator role in 2022 after serving as senior offensive assistant and quarterbacks coach. Prior to his tenure in Kansas City, Nagy was the head coach of the Chicago Bears from 2018 to 2021.

Robert Saleh brings extensive experience, spanning 21 NFL seasons. He is currently in his second term as the 49ers’ defensive coordinator, having also held the position from 2017 to 2020. Between these stints, Saleh spent over three seasons as head coach of the New York Jets from 2021 to 2024, achieving a 20-36 record.

The Titans’ coaching search remains active as the organization evaluates its options for the next head coach, with both Saleh and Nagy emerging as leading candidates during this critical phase.
