Three Indian Soldiers Sacrifice Their Lives in Arunachal Pradesh Floods

Three soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice during a flood rescue operation in Arunachal Pradesh, leaving their families and the nation in mourning.

Arunachal Pradesh, September 27 (Daily Kiran) : In a tragic turn of events, three Indian soldiers lost their lives while serving in the remote Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh. The soldiers, Agniveer Aditya Kumar, Agniveer Kundan Kumar, and Agniveer Vinod Yadav, made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty during a recent flood crisis.

The Eastern Army Command’s Commander, Lieutenant General VMB Krishna, expressed profound condolences on behalf of the military ranks. He stated that the soldiers displayed remarkable bravery while fulfilling their duties. The Indian Army has pledged its support to the grieving families, emphasizing that they stand firmly with them during this challenging time.

The soldiers went missing on August 14 during severe flooding in the Dibang Valley. Vinod Yadav, originally from Auraiya, along with Kundan Kumar from Bihar and Aditya Kumar, were later identified through DNA testing after days of uncertainty. Their remains were returned to their villages on Saturday.

Yadav was among those stationed in one of India’s most challenging terrains, tasked with ensuring national security. Their disappearance amid the natural disaster left their families in prolonged distress. After identification through DNA tests, their families received their final remains, marking a somber moment for the community.

Following the recovery of Aditya Kumar’s body from the debris during the search operations, he was given a military funeral with full honors in Arunachal Pradesh. On Saturday, his ashes were brought back to his native village, where residents held a flag procession to bid him farewell. The atmosphere was deeply emotional as villagers paid tribute to the brave soldier.

Dibang Valley is known for its harsh geographical conditions, where Indian soldiers are continuously deployed to safeguard the nation. The recent floods, landslides, and adverse weather have disrupted normal life across various states, including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh, among others. These natural disasters have not only affected human lives but have also caused extensive damage to homes, crops, and public infrastructure.

The sacrifice of Aditya Kumar, Kundan Kumar, and Vinod Yadav serves as a poignant reminder of the dedication and commitment of Indian soldiers. The Indian Army has reiterated its resolve to support the families of these brave individuals during this period of mourning.
