Thiruvananthapuram, March 24 : Three Rajya Sabha candidates were elected unopposed from Kerala on Thursday, as there were no other candidates. The winners included Kerala Pradesh Mahila Congress President Jeby Mather, CPI (M) State Committee member & DYFI All India President AA Rahim, and CPI Kannur District Secretary & party’s national council member P Santhosh Kumar. Since there were only three candidates for as any seats to the Upper House, the elections scheduled on March 31 were cancelled. The polls were necessitated after the term of three Rajya Sabha MPs – AK Antony, MV Shreyams Kumar and Somaprasad K expired. DS RJ
