Bhubaneswar, April 12 : The Commissioner of Police have arrested three athletes on the charges of sexually assaulting a J or sportsperson from Rourkela for his poor performance in a sports event in the state capital. Police on Tuesday said the three accused —Ashis Patra, Suraj Thakur and Jagannath Dash were arrested and forwarded to court. The victim athlete, a 15 year old boy alleged that the accused sodomised him for his failure to qualify for the long jump event organised at a private versity here on Saturday last. The boy said the three accused called him to their room stripped him and sexually assaulted him. He also alleged that the accused also took his nude photographs and shared it with their friends. His parents lodged a complaint with the Info city Police station after the boy shared his ordeal with them. Bhubaneswar DCP Uma Shankar Dash directed Police to take stern action against the accused after the boy and her mother met him.The DCP said an ACP rank Police officer is monitoring the investigation.
