Three Arrested in Robbery of Government Employee in New Delhi

New Delhi, February 24: Police in the national capital’s Dwarka district have arrested three individuals in connection with the robbery of a government employee. Authorities recovered a gold chain weighing approximately 11 grams that was stolen during the incident.

According to police officials, a call was received on the night of February 20, reporting that the caller had been assaulted and robbed of his chain. Immediately, Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar and his team arrived at the scene near Dwarka Mor.

The victim, 30-year-old Abhishek Hooda, a resident of Bhagwati Garden Extension, reported that he was returning home in his car. As he approached the Morasab Restaurant at Dwarka Mor, three young men surrounded him, assaulted him, and fled with his gold chain.

Based on the victim’s statement, Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar filed a report and initiated an investigation. After a day without leads, the case was handed over to SHO Mukesh Antil.

Police officials further revealed that under the guidance of ACP Najafgarh Prakash Kumar Singh, a special team was formed, including Inspector Mukesh Antil, Head Constables Jitendra, Rakesh, and Dharmendra.

The police team reviewed footage from over 50 CCTV cameras in the Bindapur, Ranohla, and Mohan Garden areas. Following technical analysis and tips from informants, raids were conducted at various locations. Based on the CCTV evidence, three suspects—Mohar Singh (28), Gaurav alias Golu (22), and Karan (19)—were apprehended. All are residents of Mohan Garden, Delhi, and reportedly engaged in theft and robbery to make quick money.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, and the stolen gold chain was recovered. Police noted that Mohar Singh has previously been involved in 14 cases, while Gaurav alias Golu has been linked to two. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to identify their accomplices. The entire group is expected to be arrested soon.
