Lucknow, March 20 : Director of ‘The Kashmir Files,’ Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri on Sunday said Kashmir was a business for some people in a bid to keep their shops running, creating controversy over the movie. Talking to the media here, Agnihotri said, “The movie is against terrorism. Can there be a controversy on terrorism? For some, Kashmir is a business and to keep their shops running they create controversy.” He said the movie has ted the people worldwide, irrespective of their caste and creed. “Without any lecture, this movie shows that how when terrorism starts entering the society and some people patronise it ideologically, then what happens to the society. Earlier, people did not recognise genocide in Kashmir, they are doing it now,” he said. Agnihotri said, “Every person wanted this story to be shown and it is being shown after 32 years. I am thankful to the producer Abhishek Agarwal who supported us at the time when nobody was ready to touch on such a subject.” He said that earlier, the policies about such movies was to ban them. “The society is divided in two parts Ram and Ravan, the truth and the lie. On one hand, there are people with humanity on the other there are those, who take arms and kill people. Those who are on the side of humanity are watching the movie and coming out of the theaters crying, on the other hand there are people, who have not watched the movie, but are crying in front of the theaters,” he said. The Director said that those opposing the movie are rattled with the fact that the lie which was spread for so many years is getting exposed. Co-producer of the movie and actor Pallavi Joshi said The Kashmir Files is based on true incidents and there is not even an iota of fiction in this. “Whatever is shown in the movie is cent per cent true. We worked on the movie for four years and met the families of first victims across the globe. We have their full length interviews, which will be released as a documentary or series,” she said. Earlier, Director Vivek, actor Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi and producer Abhishek Agarwal met caretaker Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel.
