Telangana Police to Get Leave on Birthdays and Anniversaries

Hyderabad, April 28: In a significant welfare initiative, the Telangana government has announced that police personnel will receive leave on their birthdays and wedding anniversaries. This decision aims to boost the morale and personal well-being of officers who often face immense pressure due to their ground duties.

According to a circular issued by the office of the Director General of Police, these orders will take effect immediately.

Director General of Police B. Shivdhar Reddy stated that this decision was made with the welfare of police personnel in mind, providing them relief and enhancing their morale. Each police officer and staff member will be granted leave to celebrate their birthday and wedding anniversary with their families.

The order emphasizes that this decision is specifically aimed at the welfare of police personnel who perform challenging duties and sacrifice their personal lives to protect society.

The Director General noted that this decision considers the demanding nature of policing and the significant personal sacrifices made by personnel in fulfilling their duties.

The circular indicates that this step is a token of appreciation for the relentless dedication demonstrated by the force. It aims to ensure that every member of the Telangana police, regardless of rank, has the opportunity to celebrate these important personal milestones, thereby promoting work-life balance.

All unit officials have been instructed to grant leave without fail, except in extraordinary circumstances. The circular clarifies that this should not be viewed as an entitlement. Authorities may deny leave only when absolutely necessary.

This provision applies to all personnel, from constables to senior officers. However, those wishing to avail themselves of this leave must submit a written application in advance, along with supporting documents such as proof of birth date or wedding anniversary based on their service register records.
