Telangana FM presents 2022-23 state budget worth more than Rs 2.56 lakh cr

Hyderabad, March 7 : Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Monday presented Budget worth more than Rs 2.56 lakh crore on the opening day of the Budget session of the State Assembly on Monday. Out of the total expenditure proposed in the budget, the revenue expenditure will be Rs.1,89.744.82 crore and the capital expenditure will be Rs 29,727.44 crore. The flagship Dalith Bandhu scheme, as expected, was allocated Rs 17,700 crore to provide Rs 10 lakh financial assistance to each SC family for self-employment. In his marathon budget speech, the Minister came down heavily on the Central government for meting out injustice to the state. During the budget presentation, BJP members obstructed the speech by raising slogans, following which they suspended from the House. The other major budget allocations included Agriculture Rs 24, 254 crore, Rythu Bandhu Rs 14,800 crore, Scheduled Tribes Welfare Rs 12,565 crore, Power Subsidy Rs 10,500 crore, Home Department Rs 9,315 crore, Asara pension scheme Rs 11,728 crore, Double Bed-room houses Rs 12,000 crore, Roads and Buildings Rs 8,327 crore, Backward Class Rs 5,769 crore, Scholarships & Diet Rs 4,688 crore, Palle Pragathi 3,330 crore, Pattana Pragathi Rs 1,394, Kalyana Lakshmi/Shadi Mubarak scheme Rs 2,750 crore. The Higher Education was allocated Rs 2,357 crore, Tourism Rs 1500 crore, Hyderabad Metro Rail Project Rs 1,500 crore, Sheep distribution Rs 1000 crore, Oil Palm cultivation Rs 1000 crore To set up new Medical Colleges Rs 1000 crore, Airport Metro Connectivity Rs 500 crore, Metro Connectivity to Old city Rs 500 crore, Mahila versity Rs 100 crore and Forest versity was granted Rs 100 crore. The seven-day Budget Session will end on March 15. This was decided by the Legislature Business Advisory Committee (BAC), which met after the adjournment of the House at the end of the first day’s proceedings (Budget presentation). VV RJ
