Telangana Congress Leader Mahesh Kumar Goud Celebrates Two Years as TPCC President

Hyderabad, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : Telangana Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy congratulated Mahesh Kumar Goud on Sunday for completing two years as the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC).

In a social media post, Reddy praised Goud’s journey from an ordinary party worker to leading the state party. He emphasized that appointing a leader from the backward classes (BC) community as the TPCC president demonstrates Congress’s commitment to social justice.

Since taking on this responsibility, Goud has effectively strengthened the party under the leadership of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and the guidance of Rahul Gandhi, Reddy noted. He wished Goud continued success and hoped he would achieve more in public service with the same dedication.

Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also extended his congratulations to Goud for his successful tenure. In a post on X, he highlighted Goud’s unwavering commitment to the Congress Party, noting that his rise from NSUI president to TPCC leader is truly inspirational for all party workers. Prabhakar acknowledged Goud’s efforts in empowering the party at the grassroots level and inspiring numerous young leaders across Telangana.

On this occasion, the party stated that Goud has united workers and strengthened the Congress Party over the past two years. Under his leadership, the party has effectively communicated its ‘people’s governance’ initiative through direct interactions. Goud has also provided strong political support for social justice for the BC community and the classification of SCs.

The party aims to establish Congress as a more formidable force in Telangana by 2029.

Meanwhile, Goud criticized Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for not attending the assembly. Addressing a ‘Maha-Dharna’ organized by the TPCC in Hyderabad, where KCR was urged to resign as the opposition leader, Goud questioned the former chief minister’s role in the assembly.

He urged KCR to either attend the assembly or resign from his position, stating that failing to fulfill responsibilities disrespects the public mandate.
