Telangana Chief Minister Prioritizes Welfare of Muslims

Hyderabad, March 16: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated on Sunday that his government is prioritizing the welfare and development of the Muslim community.

During a speech at an iftar gathering organized by the state government at LB Stadium, he warned the public about attempts by certain political forces to create communal tensions by dividing society along religious lines.

He emphasized that Ramadan is a month of spiritual purification and expressed joy in organizing iftar for Muslim brothers and sisters observing the fast.

Reddy called for increased brotherhood and communal harmony, urging all religions to unite for the progress of the nation. He noted that some forces are trying to sow discord among religious communities.

The Chief Minister also shared a list of positions given to members of the Muslim community by his government. This includes the appointment of Mohammad Azharuddin to a cabinet position, senior leader Mohammad Ali Shabbir as a government advisor, and the appointment of eight minority leaders to corporate positions.

He acknowledged the achievements of athletes like Mohammad Siraj and Nikhat Zareen. Siraj has been appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), while Zareen received a reward of 2 crore rupees for her boxing championship.

Reddy highlighted the funds allocated for minority welfare under various government initiatives. He reminded attendees that during the tenure of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in undivided Andhra Pradesh, a 4% reservation was provided to minorities, aiding their access to education and employment opportunities.

“This is your government, and I am your brother. The government seeks your blessings,” he stated.

He further urged everyone to unite in advancing Telangana and making it the number one state in the country.

The iftar event was attended by Minority Welfare Minister Mohammad Azharuddin, AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, state government advisor Mohammad Ali Shabbir, leaders from Congress and other parties, as well as prominent figures from various sectors.
