Patna, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has written to Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, urging the installation of life-sized statues for late leaders Sharad Yadav, Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, and Ram Vilas Paswan in the state. He has also requested that their birth anniversaries or death anniversaries be declared as state functions.
In his letter, Yadav emphasized that these figures were not only great personalities of Bihar but also prominent socialist leaders. Their dedication to social issues and active political careers significantly benefited the state. “These leaders have left a lasting impact, and we, the people of Bihar, owe them a great deal,” he stated.
Yadav recalled that just days before his passing, Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh had expressed his desire for certain demands to be fulfilled in a letter to the then Chief Minister. However, six years later, those requests remain unaddressed. He expressed confidence that Chaudhary would take necessary steps to honor these pending demands, asserting that fulfilling Raghuvansh’s last wishes would be a true tribute to his legacy.
Sharad Yadav, a towering figure in the socialist movement, was known for his lifelong commitment to social justice, particularly for the upliftment of marginalized communities. Similarly, Ram Vilas Paswan dedicated his life to advocating for the rights and development of the oppressed.
Yadav concluded his appeal by respectfully requesting the installation of statues for Raghuvansh, Sharad, and Ram Vilas, along with the declaration of their anniversaries as state celebrations.
