Patna, August 12: Bihar’s Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari launched a strong attack on Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav during a recent assembly session. Tiwari stated that Yadav is lagging behind in addressing educational issues. He claimed that the government has already taken action on the matters Yadav is now raising in his letters.
In a conversation with the media, Tiwari remarked, “The Leader of Opposition is quite late to the game. The initiatives we have already implemented in the department are the same issues he continues to write about. At least he has acknowledged some work in the education sector. However, the matters he has written about have already been addressed by us, rendering his letters meaningless.”
Tiwari also questioned Yadav and his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, regarding their tenure, asserting that they never prioritized Sanskrit while in power. He noted that both Yadavs served as Deputy Chief Ministers for three years without ever advocating for Sanskrit. “Those who ignored Sanskrit while in power now preach to us,” he added.
He assured that Bihar is in safe hands and advised Tejashwi to enjoy his travels abroad without worry. “Bihar is indeed secure. Samrat Chaudhary is addressing the concerns of Sanskrit and Urdu adequately,” he stated.
Regarding the Teacher Recruitment Examination TRE-4, Tiwari mentioned that the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will decide on the exam dates and organization. He emphasized that the government has urged for the exam to be conducted soon, ensuring thorough and foolproof arrangements.
Tiwari claimed that the government has acknowledged all major demands of the candidates. He urged them not to be misled into protests by certain leaders whose positions are at risk. “We advise candidates to remain calm. The government is attentive to their concerns,” he said.
He also criticized the Jharkhand government for its handling of student protests and police actions, alleging that it is attempting to cover up its shortcomings. Tiwari suggested that the government should recommend a CBI investigation into the students’ demands.
On the topic of teacher transfers, he stated that the government aims to ensure adequate teachers in every school. He explained that if a school requires one teacher but has five, the surplus teachers will be given the option for voluntary transfers. Tiwari noted that approximately 73,000 applications for voluntary transfers have already been received out of a projected 100,000.
He assured that the government is directly communicating with teachers and will not overlook any issues they face. “We will ensure that no teacher in Bihar has unresolved problems. Our teachers can voice their concerns until October 31. After that, we will focus on the students,” Tiwari concluded.
