Patna, April 27: Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, launched a political attack on the NDA government on Monday. He claimed that the NDA has betrayed the women of Bihar by exploiting their emotions through false promises, resulting in a massive deception affecting millions.
Yadav, the National Executive President of the RJD, stated that as the Bihar Assembly elections approached, the NDA government transferred ₹10,000 into the bank accounts of women and livelihood workers to influence voters. He alleged that they were lured with threats and warnings, claiming that cameras were installed at polling booths. If they did not vote for a specific party, the money would be reclaimed.
He further asserted that after the elections, it was promised that within six months, the remaining installment of ₹2 lakh would be sent to women’s accounts. In a press statement, he accused the leaders of being engrossed in their power games, leaving the treasury empty and the financial situation dire.
Yadav noted that 18 lakh women registered under this scheme have not received the first installment, nor have 1.81 crore livelihood workers received the second installment, despite promises made during the elections.
He emphasized that the NDA has deceived the mothers of Bihar for electoral gains, jeopardizing their families’ present and future. He criticized the government for endangering the dreams of the youth and putting critical sectors like education, health, and agriculture at risk. The situation in Bihar has become chaotic, he warned.
Yadav concluded by stating that the government, aware of Bihar’s limited resources, made a suicidal decision to distribute ₹41,000 crore in cash to secure votes in the final days of the elections. However, those greedy for power prioritized their interests over the state’s welfare.
