Puducherry, April 14 : Tamil New year’s day was on Thursday celebrated with enthusiasm by the people in the on territory. With the lifting of major Covid protocols,a large number of people were seen in front of different temples including the famous Manakkula Vinayagar to worship the deity on the special occasion. People prepared special dishes and exchanged it with friends and relatives and greeted each other to mark the occasion. Puducherry Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan,chief minister N Rangasamy,his cabinet colleagues, speaker R Selvam and leaders of different political parties greeted the people on the occasion.
