Chief Minister Vijay will campaign for candidate Sathya Bhama in a 40-kilometer road show in Dharapuram on October 6.

Dharapuram, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Vijay of Tamil Nadu is set to conduct a significant road show in Dharapuram this Sunday. The event aims to garner support for the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) candidate, Sathya Bhama, as the campaign intensifies ahead of the by-elections scheduled for October 6.

The road show will stretch approximately 40 kilometers between Dharapuram and Mulanur, marking Vijay’s second visit to the constituency during this election cycle. The campaign is expected to conclude by 6 PM.

This reserved seat in Tiruppur district is witnessing a competitive five-way battle, with candidates from TVK, DMK, AIADMK, Naam Tamilar Kachi, and the Communist Party vying for votes. In total, 22 candidates, including independents, are contesting in the elections.

Candidates are actively campaigning throughout the constituency, with senior leaders from their parties and alliances also working to rally support. As the deadline for campaigning approaches, parties are making their final appeals to voters.

Vijay will fly from Chennai to Coimbatore on Sunday morning and then travel by helicopter to Dharapuram. He is expected to arrive at the helipad in Maruti Nagar around 11 AM. From there, he will proceed to the Udomalai Roundabout Junction, where he will kick off the road show through the city’s main areas.

Key stops along the route will include Periyar Statue Junction, Five Roads Junction, and Meenakshipuram. The chief minister will continue through Kulathupalayam, Karaiyur, and Mulanur, with the Vanjiyamman Temple area also on the itinerary. After completing the event, he will return to Maruti Nagar via the same route, then head back to Coimbatore before flying to Chennai.

In preparation for the road show, security has been heightened along the route. Barricades have been set up on both sides of the roads to ensure that the public can view the procession comfortably.

Ramya Bharti, the Inspector General of Police for Coimbatore West Zone, inspected the helipad in Maruti Nagar as part of the security arrangements. She was accompanied by Tiruppur’s Superintendent of Police, Shruti Singh, along with officials from the revenue and public works departments. This inspection was a crucial part of the preparations for Vijay’s arrival and the final day of campaigning ahead of the elections on Tuesday.
