Chhatarpur, April 25: A suspicious death case involving an elderly man in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh is gaining attention. The body of 65-70-year-old Rajdev Khangar was exhumed on Friday for an autopsy, 34 days after his death, following orders from local authorities. This incident has caused a stir in the community.
Rajdev’s nephew, Sunil Khangar, has consistently claimed that his uncle was poisoned. He filed complaints with senior officials, including the SP, Collector, and DIG, on March 25. When no action was taken, he even appealed to the DGP in Bhopal.
Family members allege that when they approached the Prakash Bamhor police station, the officer on duty dismissed their concerns and discarded their application. They further claim that the police colluded with the accused to avoid a post-mortem and hastily buried the body. According to the family, on March 21, local residents Bhanupratap Yadav, his son Abhishek Yadav, and Chotu Yadav took Rajdev away. The next day, they returned with his body and reported his death, which raised further suspicions as no medical examination or autopsy was conducted before burial.
The police stated that Rajdev’s adopted daughter claimed he had consumed poison himself, leading to his deteriorating health and eventual death in the hospital. Due to financial constraints, an autopsy was not performed at that time.
SDOP Naveen Dubey indicated that the case appears to be related to a land dispute. Rajdev owned 4-5 acres of land and had no biological children, living only with his adopted daughter, which raises concerns about potential property conflicts.
Currently, the administration has conducted the autopsy and preserved the viscera for testing. All eyes are now on the report, which will hopefully reveal the true cause of death. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
