New Delhi, May 14: Former Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar has lauded Virat Kohli for his outstanding performance. On Wednesday, Kohli scored an unbeaten 105 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders, leading Royal Challengers Bangalore to their eighth victory of the season.
Kohli reached his century in just 58 balls, hitting 11 fours and 3 sixes. This marked his 10th century in T20 cricket, making him one of the top century-makers in IPL history while chasing runs.
In a conversation with ‘GeoStar’, Gavaskar emphasized that despite the rising spotlight on young stars this season, Kohli has once again proven why he remains one of the best players in the game. “Kohli was absolutely brilliant against KKR. He knows how to chase effectively. With 10 centuries, he ranks third behind Chris Gayle and Babar Azam in T20 centuries. However, he is the fastest player to reach 14,000 T20 runs and holds 9 IPL centuries. Records are meant to be broken, but matching Kohli’s consistency, match after match, season after season, will take a long time,” he stated.
