Sitapur, May 14: The recent decision by the government to impose a temporary ban on sugar exports until September 30, 2026, has received support from Sudhakar Shukla, Chairman of the Biswan Sugar Mill Committee. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal, emphasizing the urgent need to strengthen the country’s economy in light of current global conditions and wartime scenarios.
In a conversation with a news agency, Shukla noted that the world is currently facing an economic crisis, but India’s situation remains stable and robust. He stated that a strong economic foundation is essential for maintaining the pace of development.
Shukla further explained that the Prime Minister’s appeal aims to bolster India’s economic strength. He indicated that the government’s decision to temporarily halt sugar exports aligns with this objective.
He elaborated that the ban on sugar exports until September 2026 is also linked to future energy needs and the promotion of ethanol production. Increased ethanol production could reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel, propelling the country towards energy self-sufficiency.
The Chairman urged citizens to contribute to saving petrol and diesel. He advised minimizing vehicle usage where possible and limiting fuel consumption.
Shukla also supported the Prime Minister’s recommendation for people to refrain from purchasing gold at this time. He asserted that if citizens adhere to these guidelines, it would strengthen India’s economy and secure a better future for the general populace.
He reassured that despite global tensions, the country is not facing any immediate crises, and the situation remains normal. He emphasized that the government is continuously taking steps to ensure the economy remains strong and that India can progress more rapidly towards self-reliance in the future.
