A police spokesperson stated that these individuals are systematically attempting to spread unverified content and false narratives to incite unrest and disrupt the environment.
Such campaigns of misinformation pose a significant threat to the peace, security, and unity of the nation. In response, Srinagar Police has filed an FIR at the Cyber Police Station under relevant legal provisions.
The spokesperson mentioned that several profiles have been identified, and the concerned individuals have been summoned to the Cyber Cell. The investigation is actively ongoing, and strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved.
Srinagar Police has issued a clear warning that spreading fake news, incendiary content, or unverified information will lead to severe legal consequences.
The spokesperson advised citizens and media organizations to verify facts only from official and trustworthy sources before sharing any content that could disrupt communal harmony.

Authorities have imposed restrictions across the entire Kashmir Valley. All schools, colleges, and universities are closed, and Kashmir University has postponed exams scheduled for Tuesday.
To prevent mischievous elements and anti-national individuals from uploading incendiary content on social media, internet speeds have been reduced throughout the valley. A heavy presence of security forces has been deployed in sensitive areas.
