Islamabad, April 18 : Pakistan’s Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday awarded death penalty to six accused for their involvement in the brutal killing of Sri Lankan factory manager Priyantha Kumara. According to Geo News, a total of 89 men have been indicted in the murder case, of which nine are minors. The court has awarded life imprisonment to seven, while 76 convicts were awarded two years of jail. Last year, 48-year-old Priyantha Kumara, a manager at a private factory in Sialkot, was lynched and then set alight after being accused of blasphemy. During the trial, presided over by judge Natasha Naseem, the prosecution had brought to court 46 eyewitnesses and submitted as evidence the CCTV footage of 10 cameras installed at the site of the murder, as well as videos taken from the mobile phones of 55 accused men, Geo News reported.
