SRH Sets Massive Target of 236 Runs Against PBKS in IPL 2026

Hyderabad, May 7: In the 49th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has set a daunting target of 236 runs for Punjab Kings (PBKS). SRH aims to secure a victory to climb to the top of the points table.

Batting first after losing the toss at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 235 runs, losing 4 wickets in their allotted overs. The opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head provided a strong start, putting together a partnership of 54 runs in just 3.3 overs. Abhishek scored 35 runs off 13 balls, hitting 4 sixes and 2 fours before returning to the pavilion.

Travis Head then partnered with Ishan Kishan for the second wicket, adding 30 runs in 19 balls. Travis scored 38 runs off 19 balls, including 3 sixes and 3 fours. Following this, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen built a solid position for SRH, adding 88 runs for the third wicket in 48 balls.

Ishan contributed 55 runs to the team’s total, striking 4 sixes and 2 fours in his 32-ball innings. Klaasen, along with Nitish Reddy, added 63 runs for the fourth wicket in just 32 balls, propelling the team to a massive score. Klaasen scored 69 runs off 43 balls, hitting 4 sixes and 3 fours, while Reddy remained unbeaten with 29 runs off 13 balls. For Punjab Kings, Arshdeep Singh, Lockie Ferguson, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Vijaykumar Vaishak each took one wicket.

SRH made some changes to their lineup, bringing in Nitish Kumar Reddy and Saqib Hussain. Aniket Verma and Harshal Patel missed this match. Under the captaincy of Pat Cummins, Sunrisers Hyderabad fielded a team including Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Heinrich Klaasen, Salil Arora, Smaran Ravichandran, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shivang Kumar, Ishan Malinga, and Saqib Hussain.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings included Shashank Singh, Lockie Ferguson, and Vaishak Vijaykumar in their playing eleven, replacing Priyansh Arya, Nehal Wadhera, and Javier Bartlett. Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, PBKS fielded Prabhsimran Singh (wicketkeeper), Cooper Connolly, Shashank Singh, Suryansh Shedge, Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen, Lockie Ferguson, Vijaykumar Vaishak, Arshdeep Singh, and Yuzvendra Chahal.
