Chennai, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : Soundarya Rajinikanth, the daughter of legendary actor Rajinikanth, is making waves in the Tamil film industry as a successful graphic designer, filmmaker, and director. Born on September 20, 1984, in Chennai, she grew up in a family with a massive fan following due to her father’s immense popularity.
Unlike many children of famous actors who follow in their parents’ footsteps into acting, Soundarya chose a different path. She began her career as a graphic designer, creating title sequences for her father’s films. This unique start set her apart in the industry.
In 2010, Soundarya made her debut as a producer with the film “Goa.” She is the founder and owner of the production company Ocher Picture Productions. Her directorial debut came with the motion-capture animated film “Kochadaiiyaan,” which starred her father in a leading role. This film marked a significant milestone as it was India’s first motion-capture 3D film.
Throughout her career, Soundarya has directed two notable films, earning her recognition in the industry. One of these films, “Kochadaiiyaan,” showcased her innovative approach to filmmaking. She also directed “Velaiilla Pattadhari 2” (VIP 2), an action-comedy drama featuring prominent actors Dhanush and Kajol.
On the personal front, Soundarya’s life has seen its share of ups and downs. She married businessman Ashwin Ramkumar on September 3, 2010, and they welcomed a son named Ved. However, the couple divorced in 2017. Soundarya later remarried businessman Vishagan Vanangamudi on February 11, 2019, and they welcomed their second son in September 2022.
