Kolkata, April 9: BJP leader Smriti Irani held a roadshow in Kolkata on Thursday to support the party’s candidate. The event saw a significant turnout of women. During the rally, she referenced a statement by PM Modi, asserting that once the BJP forms the government in Bengal, there will be “support for all, development for all, and accountability for those who have looted Bengal.”
Irani, a former Union Minister, accepted greetings from the public during the roadshow in support of the party’s candidate.
In an interview, she emphasized that every election is crucial for the BJP, but this particular election in Bengal is especially significant as women are raising their voices for justice. The mother of a victim from the RG Kar incident has filed her nomination as a BJP candidate. Despite losing her daughter, she has come forward to make her voice heard in a democracy, yet she faces humiliation from TMC goons. This is a painful situation.
Irani stated that PM Modi has made it clear that Bengal will now witness “support for all, development for all, and accountability for all.”
She highlighted the Prime Minister’s commitment to women’s political empowerment, mentioning that the government has passed the Nari Shakti Vandan Act to empower women. She urged opposition parties to support this bill.
The BJP leader accused the Congress and UPA government of never attempting to politically empower women, while the Modi government is actively working towards this goal.
Irani launched a strong attack on the TMC, asserting that the people of Bengal know that the BJP ensures the safety of India and its citizens, while the TMC protects infiltrators. The Indian government has now taken a tough stance against such infiltrators.
It is noteworthy that PM Modi, during an election rally, stated that the TMC government prevents the people of Bengal from benefiting from central government schemes that include the PM’s name. Everyone has heard the slogan “support for all, development for all,” but more work is needed for West Bengal. Therefore, upon our government taking charge, there will be “support for all, development for all, and accountability for those who have looted Bengal.”
