Kannur, April 6 : CPI(M) General Secretary SitaramYechury on Wednesday inaugurated the 23rd Congress of the Comm st Party of India (Marxist) at EK Nayanar Nagar at Burnassery. Senior Polit Bureau (PB) member S Ramachandran Pillai hoisted the party congress flag and former Chief minister of Tripura Manik Sarkar presided over the inaugural session. CPI General secretary D Raja and 17 PB members of the CPI(M) addressed the delegate session. Kerala Chief Minister and Chairman of the Organizing Committee Pinarayi VIjayan welcomed the gathering. Debabratta Biswas, General Secretary of All India Forward Bloc, Dipankar Bhattacharya, General Secretary of CPI(ML) Liberation and Manoj Bhattacharya, General Secretary of Revolutionary Socilaist Party (RSP) could not physically present, but they sent their greeting to the party congress. The party congress will conclude on April 10 at Jawahar Stadium in a public function along with a Red Volunteer march. AK/DS SY 1455
