Etawah, March 29: A disturbing and inhumane incident has emerged from the Vaidpura area of Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh. A woman and a young man were assaulted over a love affair, and their faces were blackened as they were paraded through the village. Upon receiving the report, police arrived at the scene and detained several individuals while initiating an investigation.
According to reports, a mother of three left with a young man from Mainpuri district on March 26 of her own accord. The following evening, her family found her and brought her back home. The woman claims that upon her return, she was assaulted and harassed.
She alleges that on the night of March 27, her family called the young man to the village. He arrived around 11 PM, where he was captured by a group of people who had been waiting. He was then severely beaten and kept locked in a room throughout the night. Early Saturday morning, around 5 AM, his face was blackened. The young man was also beaten with kicks and slippers. Following this, both were paraded through the village, with some individuals preparing to adorn them with garlands made of slippers, escalating the already tense atmosphere.
Upon learning of the incident, the Vaidpura police quickly arrived and apprehended several participants in the parade. The police also took the woman and the young man to the station. According to Station Officer Nagendra Singh, seven individuals have been arrested for assaulting the woman, and actions have been taken to prevent a breach of peace.
Circle Officer Ayushi Singh stated that a case has been registered against the woman’s husband, brother-in-law, and others involved. Legal proceedings will follow the arrest of all accused parties.
