Shocking Honor Killing in Lucknow: Teenager Murdered and Dismembered

Lucknow, May 21: A horrifying case of alleged honor killing has emerged in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested three individuals, including the victim’s father, in connection with the murder of a 16-year-old girl. Her dismembered body was discovered inside a box in the S-1 coach of the Chapra-Gomtinagar Express train.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Wigan Ansari (44), his sister Noorjahan (55), and brother-in-law Mojeebullah Ansari (65), all residents of Kushinagar. They were apprehended in Kushinagar.

On May 17, railway staff found an abandoned box under a seat in the sleeper coach of the Chapra-Gomtinagar Express, which was parked at Gomtinagar railway station. Upon opening the box, GRP officials discovered the girl’s body, which had been cut into six pieces, with the head missing.

During the investigation, police reviewed CCTV footage from several railway stations. Significant leads were obtained from footage at the Tamkuhi railway station in Kushinagar, which helped identify and arrest the suspects.

Railway SP Rohit Mishra stated that two “banka” knives, believed to have been used in the murder and dismemberment, were recovered from the suspects.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim, Shabba, had a romantic relationship with a young man, which angered her family. Authorities suspect that her father conspired with his sister and brother-in-law to murder her. To conceal their identities and mislead the police, they dismembered the body and left it on the train.

The police are currently searching for the missing head of the teenager, conducting operations in areas bordering Kushinagar and Bihar. Interrogations of the three suspects are ongoing, and a comprehensive investigation is underway.
