Godda, May 8: A tragic incident unfolded in the Ghasi Chak village of Surani Panchayat, located in the Godda district of Jharkhand. On Friday, a man, under the influence of alcohol, brutally murdered his wife following a minor domestic dispute. The heinous act occurred in front of the couple’s two innocent grandsons.
According to reports, 60-year-old Kishan Das was known for his drinking habits. On that fateful day, he got into an argument with his 55-year-old wife, Ruby Devi. In a fit of rage, Kishan stuffed a cloth into Ruby’s mouth to silence her and then attacked her with a sharp weapon he had in the house.
At the time of the attack, Ruby was asleep with her two grandsons, Lav and Kush. The children’s screams alerted nearby villagers, but by the time they arrived, Kishan had fled the scene. Ruby, covered in blood, was rushed to a local hospital. After receiving initial treatment, she was referred to the sadar hospital in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The young boys informed the police that their grandfather had assaulted their grandmother right before their eyes. Upon receiving news of the incident, Surani police station chief Saurabh Kumar Thakur and his team quickly arrived at the scene. The police recovered the blood-stained weapon, a sickle, used in the murder. The station chief stated that efforts are underway to apprehend the accused, with raids being conducted at potential hideouts.
