Ranchi, April 8: In Jharkhand, alarming incidents unfolded on Wednesday as two bodies were discovered under suspicious circumstances in Ranchi and Koderma districts. In the Ratu police station area of Ranchi, panic ensued in the village of Chatakpur when locals found a young man’s body inside a locked house.
Upon receiving the report, Ratu police station chief Adikant Mahto arrived at the scene with a police team to initiate an investigation. Preliminary assessments suggest that the case may be an accident. The station chief noted that an 11,000-volt high-tension power line runs directly above the house where the body was found.
Authorities suspect that the young man may have inadvertently come into contact with the power line, leading to his immediate death. However, police are also considering homicide and other angles in their investigation. The body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination. The deceased’s family has been notified, and identification procedures are underway.
In a separate incident in Koderma district, the body of 55-year-old farmer Kishore Yadav, who had been missing for three days, was discovered hanging from a tree in the Dhaba police station area. Family members reported that Kishore had gone into the forest to graze his cattle on April 5 but did not return by evening. After extensive searches yielded no results, his family filed a missing person report at the Dhaba police station on April 6.
On Wednesday, some villagers collecting firewood in the forest spotted the body hanging from a tree. Following the report, Dhaba police station chief Bambam Sah arrived with a police team, retrieved the body, and sent it to the Sadar Hospital in Koderma for post-mortem.
Initial information from family and villagers indicates that Kishore Yadav had been struggling with severe mental stress in recent days. Based on this, police are treating the case as a potential suicide and are continuing their investigation. The station chief stated that the exact cause of death will be clarified once the post-mortem report is available.
