Shiv Senas Anand Dubey Demands Relief for Drought-Stricken Farmers and Calls for Election Commission Accountability

Mumbai, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) spokesperson Anand Dubey launched a scathing critique of both the central and state governments during a press conference in Mumbai on Sunday. He highlighted the severe drought affecting Maharashtra and Karnataka, linking it to a rise in farmer suicides. Dubey called on the Prime Minister to announce a special relief package for the beleaguered farmers.

He emphasized that the drought has become a critical issue, forcing many farmers in Maharashtra to take their own lives. The situation in Karnataka mirrors this crisis, with both states facing significant agricultural challenges due to delayed rainfall and crop failures.

Dubey remarked that opposition leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, have the right to seek assistance from the central government. He noted that while Karnataka has a Congress Chief Minister, the lack of a “double-engine” government is hindering effective coordination in relief efforts.

He expressed hope that his letter would prompt Prime Minister Modi to take action and provide a substantial compensation package for the people of both states.

Addressing concerns about law and order, Dubey pointed out that criminal activities are rampant in cities like Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, Pune, Nagpur, and Beed. He cited the shocking murder of Pradeep Purnekar as a disturbing example, lamenting that the police have yet to uncover the motives behind such violence.

He urged the Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, to acknowledge these issues and listen to the opposition’s concerns. Dubey insisted that investigations into these matters should be conducted by specialized agencies like the SIT, CBI, and CID, warning that continued violence could lead to a more serious crisis.

He also raised issues related to the Election Commission, claiming there are numerous irregularities under the guise of the SIR. Dubey called for a press conference involving key officials to discuss the resources available for conducting elections and address existing discrepancies.

In a lighter moment, he praised Captain Smita Machhar for being invited by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to light the torch on Independence Day, calling it a matter of national pride. He commended her bravery and noted her spiritual connection during the event, referencing Hanuman’s teachings.

Dubey concluded by expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Netanyahu for recognizing Indian citizens in such a significant manner, reinforcing the idea that in times of crisis, the principles of Sanatan Dharma guide the way.
