Mumbai, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : Shiv Sena-UBT has launched a fierce attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. The party, led by Uddhav Thackeray, described the mismanagement as a stain on national identity. They accused those who came to power under the banner of Hindutva of profiting from the blood of deceased karsevaks.
In an editorial published in their mouthpiece, ‘Saamana’, the party claimed, “BJP’s actions represent the greatest betrayal of Lord Ram. The temple has been looted 105 times, more than the number of times Mahmud of Ghazni raided Hindu temples.”
The editorial criticized Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, stating, “While opposition parties raised concerns about the temple’s looting, Shiv Sena has worked to raise awareness through the ‘Ramraksha’ movement. Yet, the opposition is being vilified, as echoed by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.” Fadnavis allegedly downplayed the issue, claiming there has been no theft at the temple and dismissing the opposition’s concerns.
Referencing a recent report from the Special Investigation Team (SIT), Shiv Sena-UBT emphasized that the SIT presented detailed findings to the Supreme Court, confirming that donations had been misappropriated on 105 occasions. They argued that those who labeled these allegations as a conspiracy against Hindutva have been proven wrong. The responsibility for securing the temple’s donation box lay with the BJP, yet those tasked with protecting it were the very ones accused of theft.
The editorial further stated, “Had the opposition not exposed this theft and brought it to the attention of Parliament, the looting would have continued unchecked. The 105 reported thefts could have easily escalated to a million. One day, the BJP might have sold the temple to some industrialist.” The party also alleged that the Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust has been involved in large-scale land scams, benefitting individuals connected to the BJP.
Tensions continue to rise as the political landscape in Maharashtra heats up over these serious allegations.
