Shiv Sena Criticizes Congress Rallys Impact on Delhis Businesses

Shiv Sena spokesperson addresses concerns over Congress rallys impact on Delhis traders and comments on political developments in Punjab.

Mumbai, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde has responded to concerns raised by Delhi’s traders regarding the impact of a Congress rally on their businesses. Speaking from Mumbai, Hegde highlighted that merchants are worried about the potential losses during the festive season due to political gatherings.

Hegde noted that the ongoing movement by the Congress and its allies has led to an estimated loss of around ₹2,000 crores per day for traders in Delhi during the Dussehra period. He emphasized that this situation is causing distress for families and businesses alike. Traders had previously urged Rahul Gandhi to postpone the rally scheduled for November 1, citing the upcoming festivals and the need for people to shop. The closure of shops during this time, he argued, creates significant inconvenience for the public and halts the livelihoods of countless merchants.

In addition to addressing the rally’s impact, Hegde commented on the arrest of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, stating that Khan was taken into custody immediately upon his release from jail. He mentioned that the Enforcement Directorate would be questioning him regarding various cases, emphasizing that the truth would eventually come to light.

Hegde also shared his views on the upcoming assembly elections in Punjab, describing the situation as dire. He claimed that the public is suffering and expressed skepticism about the Aam Aadmi Party, which previously held power. According to Hegde, corruption and drug-related issues remain rampant, and the people of Punjab are seeking change.

He further discussed the role of Union Home Minister Amit Shah as a key campaigner for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Hegde asserted that if the BJP and its allies come to power in Punjab, they would work towards eradicating drug abuse, a significant concern affecting the youth in the state. He hinted at a potential alliance between the BJP and the Shiromani Akali Dal ahead of the elections, suggesting that formal announcements would come from Shah and senior BJP leaders soon.
