Shekhar Kapoor Praises ‘Dhurandhar’ on OTT, Highlights Importance of Supporting Cast, Awaits Sequel

Shekhar Kapoor Appreciates ‘Dhurandhar’ on Netflix, Looks Forward to the Second Part

Mumbai, February 2: After ruling the box office for nearly 56 days, the film ‘Dhurandhar’ has now been released on the OTT platform Netflix.

Before its OTT release, the film had already crossed the ₹800 crore mark at the box office and received widespread acclaim. Renowned Hindi film director, producer, and actor Shekhar Kapoor recently watched the film and praised it highly. He expressed excitement for the upcoming ‘Dhurandhar-2’.

Shekhar Kapoor took to the social media platform X to share his thoughts, writing, “Finally watched Dhurandhar on Netflix. A brilliant story with outstanding performances even from the supporting actors. Director Aditya Dhar deserves all the praise. Congratulations to producer Jyoti Deshpande. Looking forward eagerly to Dhurandhar-2.”

The film has been widely appreciated by many in the industry. The makers themselves were surprised by its tremendous box office success. Made on a budget of approximately ₹250 crore, ‘Dhurandhar’ has earned over ₹800 crore domestically and surpassed ₹1,000 crore globally.

The makers have already announced the second part, ‘Dhurandhar-2’, which is set to release in cinemas on March 19. The film is expected to feature intense conflict between Arjun Rampal’s Major Iqbal and Ranveer Singh’s character. Following the death of Rahman the dacoit, Major Iqbal is portrayed as crossing all limits of cruelty.

Director Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ marks his second major success after the 2019 hit ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. After two years of rigorous research and hard work, Dhar produced this film that highlights patriotism as well as the challenges posed by Pakistani conspiracies. The film attempts to connect with real events, showing how preventing attacks became difficult despite intelligence inputs.
