Bareilly, April 8: Shahabuddin Razvi, President of the All India Muslim Jamaat, has welcomed the dialogue between the United States, Israel, and Iran. He praised India’s diplomatic role in this context.
In an interview with a news agency, Razvi expressed support for the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran, emphasizing that war does not resolve issues. He stated that matters are best settled through dialogue. However, he criticized the U.S. and Israel for their heavy bombardment of Iran, noting a disregard for humanity. He highlighted the tragic loss of life, including the deaths of 200 children due to attacks on hospitals and schools.
Razvi pointed out that thousands have died in this conflict, referencing that previous Israeli assaults resulted in 75,000 fatalities in Gaza. He called for international legal action against the Israeli Prime Minister for these violations.
He commended India for maintaining a balanced policy during the conflict, stating that India has responsibly managed its role over the past 40 days. Razvi noted the long-standing relationship between India and Iran, which facilitated the passage of Indian vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. He mentioned that approximately eight ships have reached India during this period.
Razvi also addressed the issue of women’s entry into the Sabarimala temple, criticizing the committee’s ban as fundamentally wrong. He questioned why women, who have historically visited religious sites, are now being restricted. He argued that while there is talk of women’s empowerment and respect, it should be reflected in practice.
