Shahabuddin Razvi, President of the All India Muslim Jamaat, has expressed his satisfaction with the Union Budget 2026-27 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament. He described the budget as well-crafted and inclusive, taking into account the needs of every section of society.
Razvi praised the budget for addressing the requirements of the poor, middle class, farmers, labourers, and minorities alike. He highlighted the Government’s focus on health and education sectors, noting that the allocations made will directly benefit common people.
He further pointed out the significant provisions for roads and infrastructure development, which will accelerate the nation’s growth. Razvi also supported the decision to increase GST on products like beedi, cigarettes, and tobacco, calling it a positive step toward reducing consumption of harmful substances and raising public awareness about health.
According to Razvi, the budget offers relief on essential household items, providing some respite from inflation for the average citizen. He emphasized the special attention given to minority welfare, with a budget allocation of approximately Rs 3,350 crore – an increase of Rs 166 crore compared to the previous year.
This enhanced funding, he said, will support scholarships, education, and strengthening of educational infrastructure for minority students. Razvi expressed that the budget meets many of the expectations of the minority community.
Summing up, he described the budget as fulfilling hopes, promoting national development while maintaining social balance. Razvi extended his congratulations to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a better and balanced budget.
