New Delhi, February 19: At the AI Impact Summit 2026, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić commended India for the event’s success and recognized the country’s initiatives in artificial intelligence (AI).

President Vučić stated, “First and foremost, I want to congratulate India on hosting such a successful event on a crucial topic like AI. This issue has become a prominent subject in both traditional media and social networks, which is a significant achievement in itself.” He highlighted India’s substantial investments in AI infrastructure, data centers, and computing. Despite being a smaller nation, Serbia is also making strides in this direction.

He noted that the summit provided an excellent opportunity for learning and strengthening mutual cooperation, which will help ensure a secure and balanced AI environment and address global concerns. He described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address as inspiring.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi held a bilateral meeting with President Vučić during the summit. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared on social media that both leaders reviewed their mutual relations and discussed ways to enhance them.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the meeting focused on increasing cooperation in various sectors, including trade and investment, artificial intelligence, fintech, education, agriculture, tourism, and people-to-people connections. The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues, reaffirming the traditional friendship between India and Serbia, which is based on strong interpersonal ties.

The five-day AI Impact Summit saw participation from over 110 countries and 30 international organizations, including nearly 20 heads of state or government and around 45 ministers.

The summit aims to advance AI initiatives in line with India’s national vision of ‘Sarva Jan Hitaya, Sarva Jan Sukha’ and the global principle of ‘AI for Humanity.’ This high-level engagement is considered crucial for strengthening strategic and economic cooperation between India and Serbia.
