Senior Open Ranking Tournament Concludes with Womens Final Rankings Announced

Gonda, May 13: The Senior Open Ranking Tournament 2026 has concluded, showcasing women’s wrestling competitions across ten different weight categories. This event has solidified the domestic rankings for the participating wrestlers.

Held at Nandini Nagar College, the tournament served as a crucial competitive platform for athletes aiming to strengthen their national standings, particularly for those who missed the opportunity to compete in the Senior National Championship earlier this season.

Several emerging wrestlers made their mark across various categories. Gold medals were awarded to Ankush (50 kg), Nishu (53 kg), Nisha (55 kg), Reena (57 kg), Seeto (59 kg), Vaishnavi Dilip Patil (62 kg), Anjali (65 kg), Anshu Rajkumar (68 kg), Bipasha (72 kg), and Itisha Chaudhary (76 kg).

Notable performances included Vaishnavi Dilip Patil, who triumphed over Anjali in the 62 kg category, and Anshu Rajkumar, who secured the top position in the 68 kg category. In the heavyweight division, Bipasha clinched gold in the 72 kg category, while Itisha Chaudhary took first place in the 76 kg category.

Silver medalists included Rachna (50 kg), Himanshi (53 kg), Naina (55 kg), Kajal Chaudhary (57 kg), Simran (59 kg), Anjali (62 kg), Dishun (65 kg), Bhateri (68 kg), Riya Kaushik (72 kg), and Pooja (76 kg).

In each category, two wrestlers earned bronze medals. Parveen and Ishika finished third in the 50 kg category, while Tannu and Tania secured bronze in the 53 kg category. Other athletes who made it to the podium included Taniska, Khushi, Shivani, Hansika Lamba, Khushi Chaudhary, Pooja Gehlot, Sarika Malik, Pragati Vinod Gaikwad, Janhvi, Kalpana, Komal, Khushi, Tanu Sharma, Kiran Hudda, Meghna, and Shiksha.

The completion of women’s events marks another significant milestone in the WFI’s domestic calendar, as the federation continues to identify and nurture new talents for future international competitions.
