Ranchi, March 7: Security forces have accelerated their efforts to achieve a Naxal-free Jharkhand by March 31. In this context, the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), GP Singh, visited the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Tirilposi, West Singhbhum district, to review the strategy and operational readiness for the anti-Naxal campaign.
During his visit, DG Singh engaged in a dialogue with the personnel stationed at the camp under the ‘Samvad’ program. He emphasized the importance of being fully prepared for the final phase of the operation. He stated that the deadline to make Jharkhand Naxal-free is set for March 31, and the security forces must achieve this goal at all costs.
DG Singh also instructed the troops to exercise heightened vigilance during operations in the forests. He pointed out that hidden IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) planted by Naxals pose the greatest threat. Therefore, strict adherence to all safety protocols is essential to ensure the objective of “zero casualties” during the campaign.
Moreover, he highlighted the necessity of maintaining continuous pressure on the core areas affected by Naxalism. Praising the commitment and bravery of the troops, DG Singh noted that their unwavering resolve will play a decisive role in completely eradicating Naxalism from Jharkhand.
It is noteworthy that on January 22, security forces eliminated 17 Naxals in the largest encounter in the state to date, including a top commander with a bounty of one crore rupees, Anil alias Patiram Manjhi, in the Saranda forests of Chaibasa. Since then, security forces have intensified search operations and pressure in the region.
