Mumbai, February 5: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam has sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, for behaving like a naive child. In a conversation in Mumbai, Nirupam expressed that Gandhi’s actions reflect a lack of understanding. The position of the Opposition leader is serious, and the entire nation pays close attention to the individual in that role, as their comments and criticisms hold significant weight regarding government operations. The Opposition leader represents the voice and thoughts of the opposition.
Nirupam accused Gandhi of trivializing national security over the past few days, citing references to an unpublished book. He pointed out that Gandhi called Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu a “traitor” within the parliamentary premises. This raises questions about Gandhi’s suitability for the role of Leader of the Opposition. Nirupam stated that Gandhi’s behavior is akin to that of a child, which poses a danger to the entire country. He urged Congress leaders to reflect on their actions, as they are harming not only the party but the nation as well.
He further commented that when Lok Sabha proceedings are disrupted, the Rajya Sabha continues its work, and vice versa. If Rajya Sabha sessions are interrupted, it does not affect the Lok Sabha. The functioning of both houses is independent. However, Nirupam criticized Mallikarjun Kharge for attempting to influence Rajya Sabha proceedings based on Lok Sabha activities, showing loyalty to the Gandhi family, which he deemed contrary to parliamentary procedures and established rules.
On the controversy surrounding the film titled “Corrupt Pandit,” Nirupam remarked that the title could be shocking and provoke anger. Corruption is a serious issue, especially with ongoing cases in police and government departments, warranting films on the subject. However, he cautioned that targeting specific castes, communities, or religions can distract from the main issue and may appear as an attempt to defame that group. It is essential to ensure that no one’s sentiments are hurt in this context.
