Sanjay Nirupam Criticizes Owaisi for Politicizing Muslim Sentiments

Nagpur, August 26: Sanjay Nirupam, a leader of the Shiv Sena party, has criticized AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for labeling the Allahabad High Court‘s hijab ruling as unconstitutional. Nirupam accused Owaisi of exploiting Muslim sentiments for his political gain.

In a conversation in Nagpur, Nirupam stated that Owaisi embodies a radical mindset. He claimed that Owaisi consistently incites Muslim emotions to further his political agenda. This often leads to violations of the country’s laws in the name of religion, which should warrant legal action against him. When the Allahabad High Court ruled that hijabs should not be worn in public spaces, every Muslim who respects the law of the land should adhere to this decision. While he does not oppose the hijab itself, he believes it should not be displayed in public areas.

Nirupam also addressed BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s criticism of actress Kriti Sanon‘s attire in a Rakhi advertisement, as well as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s support for Sanon. He emphasized the importance of respecting women’s choices and freedoms. He noted that society and the world stand with women as they progress. He does not want women to be confined by narrow-mindedness. For years, women were kept behind closed doors, but now they are free and leading the world, which he wholeheartedly supports. However, he cautioned that freedom should not come at the cost of decency, and obscenity should not be promoted.

Regarding Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s comments about Rahul Gandhi, Nirupam refrained from calling him insane but remarked that Gandhi often makes statements lacking coherence. He pointed out that many of Gandhi’s remarks are nonsensical and lack clear context, which is a common sentiment among the public. While he believes that direct criticism of opposition leaders may suit others, he finds it inappropriate.

Nirupam also responded to comments made by New York Mayor Jumaane Williams concerning a recent RSS event. He stated that they do not rely on the support of the New York Mayor. Although Williams is of Indian origin, Nirupam described him as a radical leftist with a somewhat jihadist mindset. Such individuals have historically opposed Sanatan traditions. He expressed that if the RSS chief is promoting Sanatan values and Williams is opposing it, they are not concerned. They believe that Sanatan values should be embraced by people around the world.
