Gandhinagar, May 17: Union Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated the Innovation and Incubation Center at the National Institute of Design (NID) in Gandhinagar on Thursday. The event was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi.
During the event, Goyal praised the Gujarat government’s semiconductor policy. He stated, “I would like to congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Gujarat has done remarkable work in promoting the semiconductor industry and attracting it rapidly through new policies. Sanand and Dholera are now emerging as semiconductor hubs. This was a significant need for the country, and Gujarat is playing a leading role in fulfilling this requirement.”
Goyal emphasized that the Innovation and Incubation Center at NID would guide young talents in new directions. He observed innovative ideas, creative projects, and futuristic designs developed by students during the event.
After the ceremony, Piyush Goyal shared on the social media platform ‘X’, “Today, I had the opportunity to see new ideas, creative projects, and future designs developed by students at NID Gandhinagar with Home Minister Amit Shah. Observing the youth’s thinking, creativity, and practical solutions to problems boosted my confidence that India’s future will be driven by innovation, design, and technology. Such innovations will lay a strong foundation for a developed India.”
In another post, he wrote, “Today, I had the honor of inaugurating the NID’s Incubation and Innovation Center in the presence of Honorable Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi. Design, innovation, and entrepreneurship are set to become the new identity of a developed India.”
Goyal stressed that institutions like NID play a crucial role in transforming the youth of the country from ‘job seekers’ to ‘job creators.’ He expressed confidence that this center would provide a new identity to India’s creative talent on the global stage and elevate the concept of ‘Designed in India’ to new heights.
