Lucknow, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : The Samajwadi Party (SP) is gearing up for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, with a focus on strengthening its alliance, the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA). Manoj Paras, a prominent SP legislator, shared insights following a recent party meeting held in Lucknow on September 28.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around reinforcing the PDA to ensure a robust challenge against the BJP in the Rajya Sabha elections. Paras emphasized that the SP is determined to replicate its success from the Lok Sabha elections, targeting the BJP again in the upcoming state assembly elections in 2027. He expressed confidence that the SP would form the government in Uttar Pradesh after the next elections.
When asked about potential candidates for the Rajya Sabha, Paras revealed that the party is preparing to field a third candidate and is currently deliberating on other names.
Addressing comments made by BSP leader Mayawati regarding MP Chandrashekhar Azad, Paras chose not to engage directly but accused Azad of inciting youth. He noted that many incidents appear to be premeditated, with young individuals being mobilized to engage in disruptive activities, leading to legal repercussions that could jeopardize their futures.
He cited cases from Meerut and Allahabad, where young people faced legal challenges without receiving adequate support afterward. Paras urged the youth, particularly from Dalit and marginalized communities, to refrain from taking impulsive actions influenced by social media or crowds that could lead to legal troubles. He stressed that a criminal record could severely impact their job prospects and overall future.
Regarding the upcoming meeting of the India alliance, Paras stated that decisions about representation would be made by the party’s national leadership, and he refrained from commenting further.
In response to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s remarks branding SP leaders as “chameleons,” Paras countered that the public can clearly see who truly changes colors. He asserted that the truth is evident to the electorate and the media, making it unnecessary to clarify who is deceptive.
