Mumbai, May 4: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan expressed his sorrow on social media Sunday night over the passing of his longtime friend, Sushil Kumar, who had been like a brother to him for 42 years.
In a heartfelt note, Salman reflected on their friendship, stating, “This person was my brother for 42 years—kind, helpful, and the best. No matter how tough things got for him, he always smiled and danced, showing no pain or stress even in the worst situations. Whether it was financial, emotional, or physical struggles, he would always say, ‘It doesn’t matter, everything will be fine.’”
Salman continued, “His name is Sushil Kumar, or rather, it was just five minutes ago. Goodbye, brother. You lived life like a true human and faced death like a heavyweight champion. There are no tears for you, only memories and laughter.”
The actor added, “My ‘bro’ left with a smile on his face. That’s the right way to go, brother. Everyone has to leave eventually—no one knows when or how—so make your mark. Enjoy your cigarettes and whiskey now, cheers brother. I think I will miss you a little.”
Salman also shared several photos of Sushil, where he appeared alongside Salman and his father, Salim Khan. While the exact nature of Salman Khan and the late Sushil Kumar’s relationship is not entirely clear, the superstar’s caption suggests that Sushil was quite close to the Khan family.
As for Salman Khan, he is currently preparing for the release of his upcoming film “Matrubhumi: Me War Rest in Peace.” The film is being produced under his banner, Salman Khan Films, with Apurva Lakhia directing. Chitrangada Singh will star in the lead role.
