
New Delhi, April 3: Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov is on a two-day visit to India. His trip, taking place on April 2 and 3, 2026, includes meetings with India’s top leadership. During these discussions, he addressed issues concerning West Asia and other regional matters.
According to information shared by the Ministry of External Affairs, Deputy PM Manturov held a bilateral meeting with India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar in New Delhi on April 3. Manturov also serves as the co-chair of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC).
Both sides engaged in extensive discussions on new opportunities in trade, industry, energy, fertilizers, connectivity, mobility, technology, innovation, and essential minerals.
The Ministry noted that they reviewed the implementation of various outcomes from the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit held last December. Additionally, Co-chair Manturov shared his views on regional and global developments, including conflicts in West Asia.
Manturov also met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Following the meeting with the Deputy PM, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar expressed his satisfaction on social media platform X, stating, “I was pleased to host Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov in New Delhi on Thursday. We had in-depth discussions on our bilateral cooperation, focusing particularly on trade, industry, energy, fertilizers, connectivity, and mobility. We also explored new opportunities in technology, innovation, and critical minerals, while exchanging views on regional and global developments, including the ongoing conflict in West Asia.”
Earlier, Deputy PM Manturov met with Prime Minister Modi, where both leaders discussed the progress of India-Russia relations. During their meeting, Manturov provided updates on advancements in various areas of mutual cooperation, including trade and economic partnerships, fertilizers, connectivity, and people-to-people ties.
