Rourkela (Odisha), March 19 : A bird paradise with ten pairs of exotic birds has been set up in Odisha by the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) as part of its employee engagement programme. The in-house bird paradise has been created at Samskar Udyan of the Raw Material Handling Plant of the RSP to create awareness about the depleting number of birds in the surroundings and to encourage employees to take care of them . RSP Director Incharge Atanu Bhowmick had inaugurated the bird paradise on March 16 by releasing 10 pairs of exotic birds into it in the presence of several dignitaries of the steel plant. To create a natural surrounding inside the aviary, a pond with a cascading fountain, a fish pond with colourful fishe= and beautiful homes for rabbits and ducks have been constructed. The interiors are also decorated with artistic figurines of dancers and musicians, colourful butterflies and leaves. All these have been designed and fabricated by the employees of RMHP from scrap. The enclosure – 45 feet long and 15 feet wide – has been conceptualised, designed and built in-house by the employees of RMHP with the help from Civil Engineering Services and Horticulture Department of RSP.
