Route of Amit Shah’s convoy changed due to short circuit incident

Bengaluru, April 1 : The route of on Home Minister Amit Shah’s convoy was changed soon after a case of short circuit was brought to the notice of the police near Mount Carmel College. The on Home Minister’s convoy was supposed to pass by the spot where the incident took place. Shah to supposed to take this route to reach Palace Grounds where he was scheduled to inaugurate Yeshasvini health insurance scheme for members of cooperative institutes. Soon after the incident came to their notice, senior police officers including Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant immediately rushed to the spot where the short circuit occurred. After an investigation, Pant ruled out a case of sabotage. “There is no case of sabotage. It is a case of short circuit. The Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) people are attending to the problem,” he told reporters. Around 4.30 pm, a loud sound was heard when an underground electric cables short-circuited in a sewage, which resulted in the formation of smoke. In the evening, Shah is scheduled to chair the BJP core committee meeting along with Karnataka in-charge Arun Singh, National General Secretary CT Ravi, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Karnataka BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel and former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa. The meeting has assumed importance as Karnataka is gearing up for 2023 elections. Prior to this, Shah participated in Guruvandana programme and 115th birth anniversary celebrations of late Lingayat seer Shivakumara Swamiji of Siddaganga Mutt, in which four lakh people attended the event.
