Mumbai, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : NCP (SP) leader and MLA Rohit Pawar has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, demanding the public release of the inquiry report regarding former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. This request stems from allegations made against Deshmukh in 2021, when he was accused of involvement in a ₹100 crore scam based on hearsay.
To investigate these claims, the Maharashtra government established a judicial commission on March 30, 2021, under the Judicial Commission Act of 1952. The commission was led by retired High Court Judge Justice K.U. Chandivale.
After a thorough examination of evidence over 13 months, the commission submitted a detailed 1,400-page report to the state government on April 26, 2022.
In his letter, Pawar noted that Deshmukh has reached out to the Chief Minister 13 times, requesting the report’s release. These appeals occurred on various dates, including February 27, 2024, July 7, 2024, and August 20, 2026. Deshmukh also wrote to the Governor twice, urging for the report to be made public.
Despite these repeated requests and the passage of more than four years, the state government has not disclosed the report, keeping it under wraps. Pawar has urged the Chief Minister to promptly release the report to unveil the truth.
