New Delhi, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : New Delhi is set to experience a welcome change in weather after enduring two days of intense heat and humidity reminiscent of June and July. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted rain for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, promising a drop in temperatures and a respite from rising pollution levels.
On September 11, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to reach 33 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 26 degrees. Cloud cover will likely be prevalent, and light rain may occur throughout the day.
The forecast indicates a slight decrease in temperatures on September 12, with highs of 31 degrees and lows of 25 degrees, accompanied by moderate rainfall. On September 13, temperatures might rise slightly to a maximum of 32 degrees and a minimum of 26 degrees, with light rain expected again. By September 14, temperatures are projected to remain between 31 and 25 degrees Celsius.
Looking ahead to September 15, the maximum temperature could drop to 31 degrees, with a minimum of 24 degrees. The following day, September 16, is anticipated to see continued cloud cover and light rainfall, with temperatures around 32 degrees for the maximum and 24 degrees for the minimum.
The expected rainfall is anticipated to improve air quality as well. Currently, pollution levels in various areas of Delhi remain in the moderate to poor category. According to the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, the Air Quality Index (AQI) readings show a range from satisfactory to moderate. For instance, Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 80, while Ashok Vihar hit 139. In Noida, the AQI levels varied significantly, with Sector 125 at 172 and Sector 62 at 119. In Ghaziabad, the AQI in Govindpuram was a healthy 47, contrasting with readings in other sectors that indicated higher pollution levels.
Residents of Delhi-NCR can look forward to a refreshing change in weather over the next three days.
