Lucknow, March 23 : Governor Anandiben Patel on Wednesday appointed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ramapati Shastri as Pro-tem Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha. Raj Bhawan sources while confirming Shastri’s appointment said that the Governor will administer him oath as Pro-tem Speaker on March 26. “The Pro-tem speaker will then administer an oath to the newly elected members of the house,” they said. The swearing-in ceremony of Yogi Adityanath as the Chief Minister is scheduled to be held on March 25. Several ministers will also take oath on the occasion. Prior to this a meeting of the newly elected BJP MLAs will be held on Thursday at Lok Bhawan where Yogi will be elected as the leader of the legislature party. The meeting will be attended by on Home Minister Amit Shah, who is also the BJP’s central observer for UP, while former CM of Jharkhand Raghubar Das is co-observer. AB SHK1650
